Welcome
to the Texas Auto Dealers Self Insurers Group!
Sponsored by the
The Texas Automobile Dealers Self Insurers Group (TADSIG), a self-insurance group designed exclusively for members of the Texas Automobile Dealers Association has just celebrated its first year of doing business. Legislation enacted in 2004 enabled the formation of self-insurance groups for members of bona-fide trade associations for the first time in Texas. The Texas Automobile Dealers Association was one of the first private associations in Texas to receive a certificate of approval from the Department of Insurance to operate as a workers' compensation self-insurance group. Since that time a number of other associations have formed self-insured groups and been approved by the Texas Department of Insurance. While relatively new in Texas, self-insurance groups of all of kinds have been operating for many years in 35 other states. Of greater importance for TADA members is the fact that more than 15 states have automobile dealer self-insurance groups that average more than 16 years of business success.
The purpose of TADSIG is to provide
more than just workers' compensation coverage; it provides industry-specific resources for automobile dealers
that take ownership in workplace safety and want to have an active
role in mitigating losses. A proactive approach
to handling claims and an investment in safety can reap long-term
cost savings. More importantly, it provides a safe
working environment for your most valuable asset – your
employees. TADSIG is owned by the members, and unlike commercial insurance companies that must achieve return on equity, cash flow, and other objectives to increase share price for the benefit of stockholders, TADSIG focuses on member risk mitigation through dealer-specific, value-added services coupled with an efficient expense structure and member dividend potential. |
